The Latest Device For Mobile Phone-USB On-The-Go

As technology grows, our lives get more and more complicated. Barely some few days ago, a friend of mine got a new mobile device. As we unpack the new beast, we saw everything is complete. Just that a new gadget draw our attention to the pack.
A black short code with the head similar to that of a normal Universal Serial Bus (U.S.B) cable. However, a careful observation shows that we are in a brand new world entirely. This device is different. Therefore, as a curious person that I am, I decided to investigate the function. That was when I discovered that my friend has bought a mini laptop. How do I mean? Relax let me explain.
Prior to this technology, mobile phones cannot be used as a host computer, unlike a laptop. If you connect a normal USB to a phone, it can only receive and not send. However, all that is about to change with the introduction of USB On-The-Go.
USB OTG was the mini cable we found on this phone pack. It has all the similar features of a normal USB device with the head being an in and not the out with the normal USB. With this, the phone can act like a computer.
OTG allows compatible phones to receive gadgets with low power consumption that can be connected a laptop to be connected with a phone. This can be done with the USB port on the phone and the OTG.
Phones that have the functionality are modern phones. To know a phone that is compatible, simply check the manufacturer’s website, the phone casing or online phone review site. Look for the OTG logo or the word USB host supported. That is an indication that the phone is supported.

The devices that can be connected include video game controllers, keyboard, printers, mouse, modem, an external memory such as flash, etc. However, multiple USB ports have been confirmed to work with these phones. I am yet to try that out personally.
